There are no easements registered at present over the house I wish to buy, but how can I tell whether a neighbouring house will not suddenly claim a prescriptive easement over my land, after I move in. Saying that the prescriptive 20yr period has just completed. Could they do that? Is there a mechanism to stop this happening ?
