Your brief will be to support the design and development of new products and upgrades to our existing products.
Reporting to the Research Manager, this position joins our current research team consisting of a Mathematician, Materials Scientist, Physicist and Data Analyst.
Main Functions and Responsibilities:
Development of classification algorithms for validation products
Development of efficient training algorithms for classification
Modelling of sensing systems to predict performance
Modelling of control systems
Liase with the multi-disciplined design team on product development
Technical Criteria
Academic Qualifications:
Degree in Mathematics and 2nd Degree in a related subject e.g. Applied Numerical Computing; Applied Mathematics; Statistics
Knowledge or skills acquired through work experience:
The application of multivariate statistics, machine learning and data mining
Modelling physical/electrical systems
Experience of signal processing
Programming C; Matlab or similar tools
Experienced in the practical application of research

In this position, you will be involved in a structured Associate Application Engineer (AAE) Program that provides a solid foundation into Mentor Graphics and develops qualified technical sales resources for MGC's Direct Sales Organization.
Associate Application Engineers are members of a team of highly motivated individuals working with customers designing the most complex hardware and software systems in the world and whose applications span the electronics industry.
Upon successful completion of the initial phase, you will then focus on an Application Engineering role that develops technical relationships at the engineering level with customers to identify bottlenecks in the design flow and to identify customer's unique functional verification challenges and analyze how in-circuit emulation or transaction-oriented acceleration could address these challenges. Will also recommend solutions to problems/issues with products & application integration to include customer presentations, needs analysis, product demonstrations, and coordination of benchmarking and evaluation activities.
Requires a BSEE/BSCE(MSEE/MSCE preferred) and demonstrated experience in the required technical focus. Group or customer presentation skills are required, excellent interpersonal & communication skills are a must. Moderate travel and ability to relocate is required.
